Boys & Girls Club Golf Skills Day Brings a Lifetime Sport to Kids |

The Boys & Girls Club of Greeneville & Greene County hosted the 2nd annual Golf Skills day at the Link Hills Golf Course in June. The event had a free golf clinic followed by a golf skills competition with the winners receiving trophies. The participants were also treated to lunch following the activities. This clinic and competition was sponsored by Appalachian Forest Products and Innovative Design Industries, with free t-shirts for the competitors being furnished by several local businesses. Courtney & Amy Hutchinson and their daughter, Katie helped coordinate the event and clinic along with members of the Greeneville High School golf team. This skills clinic taught players how to chip the ball, drive off the tee and focused on short and long putts among other golfing skills.

The Boys & Girls Club of Greeneville & Greene County hosted a Golf Clinic & Skills Competition on Thursday, July 27th at River Trace Golf Course. This event was for kids in grades first to eighth. The event had a free golf clinic followed by a golf skills competition with the winners receiving trophies. The competition was broken down into grades 1st & 2nd, 3rd to 5th, and 6th to 8th, in both boys' & girls' divisons. The participants were also treated to lunch following the activities. This clinic and competition was sponsored by Appalachian Forest Products and Innovative Design Industries, with free t-shirts for the competitors being furnished by East Tennessee Promotions. |

The overall winners from this year's competition were as follows: Dakota Malone and Elaine Baker won the 1st - 2nd grade division, Michael Ricker and Kassee Christian won the 3rd - 5th grade division, and Macey brown and Preston Moore won the 6th - 8th grade division.
