Boys & Girls Club Sports & Recreation Programs Include

Jr. Golf Classic: this event is held at the Link Hills Country Club Golf Course . It is for boys and girls ages four - eighteen years old. It was the largest youth tournament in our county this year.
Greene County Youth Golf Championship: held at Nolichuckey View Golf Club, this event is open to boys & Girls ages 4-18 years old.
Fitness Authority: This program was held at our Club for all ages stressing basic fitness skills. The kids were inspired to achieve fitness objectives that would help with their overall physical fitness and well being daily with varied fitness activities for boys & girls.
Pitch Hit & Run Competition: This annual event for boys & girls tests the throwing, hitting and running of youngsters in a skills competition. The local winners may advance to area competitiions with the ultimate goal of competiting in a MLB stadium.
Baseball Skliiz & Drillz Clinic: In conjunction with the Greeneville Astros players and coaches local youth are given the opportunity to participate in many activities with Astros players and coaches at Pioneer Park. This is always followed by a pizza party for the kids.
Astros 5K Road Race: This 5K race is for both children and adults and it is run in Tusculum with the race ending with a lap in the Pioneer Park stadium.
Punt, Pass, and Kick Competition: This collaboration with the Greeneville Recreation Department offered a skill competition in football punting, passing, and kicking. The event was held on a local high school’s football field with both boys and girls, ages six - fourteen competing against each other for overall winners in each age group. The kids were all given t-shirts for entering, so everybody got something for their efforts.
Football Skills Clinic: held annually at Tusculum College, Coach Frank DeBusk and the Pioneers football team put on a clinic for the youth of our community.
Pioneer Pigskin Kickoff Classic: This event was held at Tusculum College for area teams ages 7-9 and 10-12.
Traveling Youth Football League: Our tackle football league played their home games at Greeneville High's Burley stadium and also traveled in the East Tennessee area. We had four teams in 2009 and we hope to expand to six in 2010.
Basketball Skills Day: As a collaboration with our local YMCA, Greeneville Parks & Recreation, and Tusculum College, we offered basketball skills test on shooting and dribbling. Trophies were presented to the overall winners in each age group. College players and coaches taught skills to those present. This event was held at East View Parks & Recreation gym.
Swimming: We take the kids swimming two days a week during the summer at Hardin Park.
Games Room Activities: We have many activities available for our Club kids in the games room including pool, foosball, and board games.
Sports: From basketball to kickball, from football to whiffle ball, we have many team activities going on weekly at the club during our summer and aftershcool programs.
Day for Kids: a collaboration with many community agencies it is held each September at the Greene County fairgrounds. It is a day for adults to spend time with the kids. The 2010 event will be held on Sunday, September 26th from 2-5 pm. The event is free to the public.
