2025 10th Annual Boys & Girls Club Golf Ball Drop

The weather may have prevented the helicopter from taking flight, but luckily for us, Greeneville Energy Authority - GLPS connected, and we were still able to hold another successful Boys & Girls Club Golf Ball Drop—including our first-ever Hole-in-One winner!

Thank you to everyone who came out to Link Hills Country Club, purchased tickets, and supported the event. We appreciate our sponsors— Johnson City Honda, Pizza Inn, and Captain D’s—so much, and Grand Rental for providing such a great meal. Pizza Inn and Captain D’s also sent food for the event, and Greeneville Oil QuickStop Markets generously provided beverages. A special thanks to our staff, board members, and volunteers for their help in making this event happen—you all make such a difference.

We also want to acknowledge Bean Harrison, Drew Hall, and the GEA team for stepping in and dropping the golf balls—we couldn’t have done it without you!

Boys & Girls Club’s Golf Ball Drop Offers Opportunity to Win $5,000 Cash

Prizes will fall from the sky again this year during the 9th Annual Boys & Girls Club Golf Ball Drop on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at Link Hills Country Club Golf Course in Greeneville, Tennessee. The event is sponsored by Johnson City Toyota, Captain D’s Seafood Kitchen and Pizza Inn. The family-friendly fundraising event includes a guaranteed $5,000 cash winner, refreshments, and fun. The golf ball drop event will have food and drinks and is being held in conjunction with the Bob Kesling Celebrity Golf Classic that will take place on Friday, June 14, 2024, at Link Hills Country Club. The food starts at 6:30 pm and is provided by Grand True Value Rental, Pizza Inn, and Captain D’s. The golf balls will be dropped around 6:45 pm. Prizes will be presented on site to the winners, but you do not have to be present to win a prize.

The event will be capped off with numbered golf balls being dropped from a helicopter, provided by Sevier County Aviation. The balls that land closest to the selected pin will win $5,000 cash and nine other prizes. Golf balls can be purchased for $20 from the Boys & Girls Club board, volunteers, and staff.

There are ten opportunities to win prizes, and individuals are eligible to win more than one prize if multiple balls are purchased. To determine the winners of each prize, the balls closest to the pin wins (you do not have to be present to win). The prizes include: The golf ball closest to the hole wins $5,000 cash, 2nd closest wins a suite, seats and food for 20 at a Greeneville Flyboys baseball game at Pioneer Park, 3rd closest to the hole gets a 65 inch big screen TV donated by Cooks Mechanical Services, 4th closest to the hole wins a 55 inch big screen TV donated by Grand Ture Value Rental, 5th place gets a $250 gas gift card to QuickStop Markets donated by Greeneville Oil & Petroleum Company, 6th closest wins a $150 gift certificate to The Butcher’s Block, 7th closest wins a $100 certificate to Captain D’s Seafood Kitchen, 8th closest wins a $100 gift certificate to Pizza Inn, 9th closest wins $100 cash, and the ball farthest from the hole will get their $20 back. Kyle Moore & Terry Woods are serving as the Chairpersons for this years event. Moore stated that “the Boys & Girls Club hopes to sell 1,250 tickets for this years event, so your chances to win are very good”.

The Golf Ball Drop is a game of chance registered with the State of Tennessee Department of Charitable Solicitations and Gaming.
